BorgWarner licenses the DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) system to the Volkswagen Group. It is two manual gearboxes with separate clutches within a single housing, enabling much faster gear selection.
Temic Controllers electronically control the DSG boxes and have the following generations available:
DQ200 • DQ250 • DQ380 • DQ500 • DQ511 • DL501
Bespoke Software Solutions
Ultimate Performance offers custom calibrations for diesel and petrol engines. Specify your preferences, and our system will generate the software.
INCREASED RPM LIMITER
For vehicles with DSG, it is crucial to set the RPM limiter in both the engine ECU and DSG controller. Our software ensures both controllers have the same limit, resulting in a wider rev range.
INCREASED SHIFT SPEEDS
The Temic Controller controls the gear selector actuation. Our software upgrade can increase shift speed by up to 20%, resulting in faster sprint times.
KICK DOWN
The DSG controller can disable auto kick-down, allowing the vehicle to be driven in gear at lower RPMs.
LAUNCH CONTROL
All DSG controllers have launch control built-in. We can activate or deactivate it and set RPM points as per customer requirements.
INCREASED MAXIMUM TORQUE
The DSG controller has an internal maximum torque allowance. If you raise it, you can unlock potential power gains from the engine ECU.
